We aim to create an atmosphere of good humour and pleasant orderliness that supports the enhancement of self-esteem and confidence in an environment of unconditional acceptance.

Each day begins with group tutor time where students have the opportunity to review the preceding day and plan targets for the day ahead. Students who achieve their weekly targets participate in “reward time” at the end of the week. Those who do not have an opportunity to reflect on how things went and to discuss what changes could be made to improve their performance.

Students earn merits which can be used to buy items of their choice. Other rewards include certificates, public acclaim, badges, outings, responsibilities and privileges.

We continually monitor our students’ progress throughout their school life with a number of formal checks. One of these is the annual review which provides an opportunity to celebrate progress and plan for the future.
