The students have a right: And a matching responsibility:
To a fresh start, the past is history and the future is sunny To lay aside all prejudices and bad experiences and trust us that we can and do want to help you
To be supported as you take the risk of changing your life and behaviour To work with us and not against us and to make a serious commitment to change for the better
To an environment in which you can learn, which is warm, ventilated, light and has enough space to work To care for the environment and to play your part in keeping it clean and tidy both for yourself and others
Not to be bullied either emotionally or physically To be supportive of each other
To learn without your work being interfered with or put down by others To respect other people's work and efforts
To respect and fair treatment by staff and other students To be courteous and considerate to staff and other students
To have your voice heard and to be treated with sensitivity as a unique person who from time to time may need a listening ear To speak up when you have a problem. We cannot help you when you keep things bottled up inside
To be listened to as someone whose opinions are worth hearing and whose suggestions will be treated sympathetically and not put down or ridiculed To listen to others and give them a fair turn and to be sensitive to shy people who find it difficult to speak in front of others

To aim high, think big and dream dreams as someone who has the potential to make a real contribution to the future of the School and to society Not to put yourself down
To be taught in a way which is helpful for you, which is at the right level and which will motivate you and help you to take responsibility for your own learning To do your best in lessons and complete your homework to the best of your ability
To be encouraged and helped but not forced to overcome problems which at the time may seem to you to be insurmountable To trust in the support of the staff and try really hard to tackle problems
