Peer Mentoring Programme
The Peer Mentoring Programme has been operating in our school for seven years and has proved to be an effective aid when dealing with bullying issues. Our students are invited to become part of the scheme by becoming peer mentors. Training is given by our qualified staff over a six week period, the mentor is then placed with a student during social times such as break time or lunch and sometimes they will offer 1:1 support in lessons. Recently several of our mentors have been successfully involved in re-writing the school's Anti-Bullying policy.
A number of our mentors have received the Diana Anti-Bullying Award. This prestigious, nationally recognised Award raises awareness and promotes the work of outstanding young people who get involved in their school community to tackle the harmful consequences of bullying and to improve the lives of others.
All our mentors have their work recorded in their Personal Record of Acheivement Booklet, this ensures that their dedication and commitment is recognised when moving on to further education or to the work place. This achievement is something to be very proud of.
